About Us

OUR VISION

At Whole Child India Foundation, we envision an India where every child can flourish—academically, socially, emotionally, and personally. Every child deserves a learning environment that is safe, inclusive, and empowering, where their unique strengths are recognised. We see learning as a holistic journey; one that nurtures the whole child. Education should ignite curiosity, foster empathy, and develop the skills children need to navigate a complex, ever-changing world.

Our vision is grounded in evidence and research, guiding the design of programs, teaching practices, and school cultures that truly make a difference. By focusing on the interconnected dimensions of child development, we aim to transform education from a daily routine into an empowering experience that shapes each child’s future and lays the foundation for lifelong success.

Our Vision in Action

Turning vision into reality requires deliberate, research-informed action. Children’s learning, well-being, and growth are deeply interconnected, and meaningful impact depends on strengthening the full ecosystem around them—teachers, schools, families, and communities. These five interconnected commitments guide how we translate our vision into measurable, sustainable impact, ensuring that every child has the support, opportunities, and environment they need to truly thrive.

1. Strengthening Education through Research and Learning

We are committed to building a strong evidence base that drives real improvement in classrooms.

  • We apply principles of improvement science to identify and scale what works in practice, ensuring research directly improves the daily experiences of teachers and students.
  • We use rigorous methods such as REALM (Research for Equitable and Adaptive Learning Measurement), implementation science, efficacy studies, and Randomized Control Trials (RCTs) to assess impact and refine strategies.

2. Transforming Teaching and Learning Practices

We co-create and implement pedagogical tools and training that support children’s holistic development.

  • We design professional development programs that equip educators with transformative, child-centered practices.
  • We foster positive, inclusive school cultures that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • We work with local and national education stakeholders to integrate these practices system-wide.

3. Advocating for Systemic Policy Change

We believe policy is a powerful lever for equity and excellence.

  • We identify systemic gaps and advocate for evidence-based educational reforms that promote Whole Child Development (WCD).
  • We engage with policymakers, educators, and communities to advocate for evidence based reforms.
  • We raise awareness around the importance of social and emotional learning (SEL), teacher well-being, inclusivity, and comprehensive child development.

4. Engaging Communities for Lasting Impact

Schools thrive when communities become active partners in the learning process.

  • We involve parents, local organisations, and community leaders in shaping meaningful educational experiences.
  • We organize workshops, outreach programs, and knowledge-sharing forums to build grassroots support for learning.

We create locally rooted, sustainable change through collective ownership and shared responsibility.

5. Ensuring Equity and Access in Education

We believe no child should be left behind.

  • We design and deliver targeted interventions for marginalized communities and children with diverse needs.
  • We work to remove systemic barriers to access—whether economic, cultural, or infrastructural.
  • We continually assess and adapt our programs to ensure they are inclusive, impactful, and equitable.
